Week 7

This past week was just not my week. I was late to class for the first time and was late finishing my brochure for my Internet Awareness tab and I just haven't felt too good. But I am feeling much better now. I can hardly believe this class is just about over. It went by way too fast for how fun it was and how much I have learned. This week I learned about Microsoft Publisher which was all new for me and had a blast! My flyer and brochure turned out so cute and I will be using Publisher for more projects in the future! I have been rough drafting my final project and am anxious to see my final product along with the ideas from everyone else in class.

Week 6

Googledocs: I was scared of it. I had no idea how to use it or why I would ever need to, until class on Monday! Wow, it is awesome! I has so much fun seeing how googledocs works as my group and I worked on our assignment. Googledocs was so much simpler than I thought it would be and I wish more people used it because it could be so helpful for so many different people things.

I have also enjoyed reading more about Internet safety and creating my brochure. This has gone by so fast, I can't believe we are more than half way done! I have learned more in these past weeks than I did in other semester long classes. Love it!!

Week 5

This has been a slightly crazy week. I got back from my vacation on Monday and didn't do my readings about digital cameras until Tuesday night. I then noticed we needed our books for Wednesday and stopped at Barnes and Noble before class but they didn't have it. So after class on Wednesday I went to the book store where they charged me 40 more dollars than they should have so I had to go back on Thursday for my refund. Crazy. But as far as class goes, it was great. I have enjoyed going through the book and discovering ways to use Power point besides presentations and slide shows. I still haven't narrowed down my favorite three for my assignment but I will figure it out. I am also enjoying working on my digital pictures in Picasa and can't wait to see my finished slide show.

Week 4

YEAH!! I am so excited for this weeks assighnment! I love Picasa and photography! I am headed to Las Vegas this weekend and will be taking lots of pictures for our homework. I really enjoyed going over Picasa in class to kind of refresh and remind me what types of things Picasa can do! I have Adobe Photoshop but it is way too difficult for me so I stick with Picasa 3!

Week 3

I really enjoyed this weeks class time and work time. I have had such a fun time learning how to use Pioneer Library. All throughout junior high and high school I had known about the Pioneer Library and would occasionally use it in various classes, but I had no idea how cool it really is! I have found myself caught up in this site and discovering new things that I have forgotten that I was working on my UEN page. I cannot wait to use this more in my classroom someday!

Week 2

We began working on our UEN pages this week and I really enjoyed it. I had fun creating my "All About Me" page and adding photos from my life. I am still finishing up my UEN K-12 assignment which is kinda fun. It has been exciting to create a lesson plan that I will probably eventually use in my future. I am doing a lesson on the 4 seasons which is part of the Utah curriculum for kindergarten.There are SO many resources on the Internet that will really interest students in learning by using fun games and activities to aide in teaching. I can't wait to see whats in store for next week!

Week 1

The first day of class: always feeling a bit nervous and anxious, but I loved it! I am so excited to learn more ways of making the most of the technology access I will have in my future classroom. In past classroom observations I have seen many teachers use lap tops and projectors in ways I have never seen. I want to get ideas and understand how I can improve and enhance my students learning experience and make it more fun and memorable. And this class will do that for sure! I loved what the professor said about children now days being so computer literate as we adults have to slowly learn. I know I will be trying to keep up with what my students already know when it comes to technology so I want to be as ready as possible. I just loved this cartoon!
